The Kingdom of Thailand Lies in the Heart of Southeast Asia. The Country is divided into four Topographic Regions.
1) Northern Region, Mountains and Forests. 2) The Central Region, Vast Rice Fields. 3) The Semi-arid Farm Lands of Isaan the Northeast Region. 4) The Long Coastline and Tropical Islands of the Southern Region.

Thailand was known to the west as Siam until 1939. When on June 24th the Government changed its name to Thailand. Translated into English means (Land of the Free), the Kingdom of Thailand is approximately the size of France, or the state of Texas with a total land area of over 500,000 square kilometers and a coastline of over 3,000 kilometers.
