Nightlife in Thailand is vibrant and exciting many of the top entertainment venues in Bangkok are also located in Pattaya and Phuket. Chiang Mai Thailand’s second city and the centre of tourism in north Thailand is more laid back than Bangkok in vibrant nightlife. However the city offers many good bars, pubs, restaurants and some nightclubs plus Thai karaoke music bars.
Major cities, towns and tourist destinations throughout Thailand have much to offer in the way of nightlife and entertainment. The variety of nightlife varies from city to city. It is no secret that many visit Thailand just for its exotic nightlife. The fact it’s your vacation you can either choose to visit or ignore them.
The Sukhumvit road area of Bangkok is easily accessible on the BTS SkyTrain Sukhumvit Line, which runs from Mo Chit through the Silom Line interchange at Siam Square up to On Nut on Soi (side street) 81. The Bangkok Metro's Sukhumvit Station interchanges with the SkyTrain at Asok. Nightclubs, pubs and restaurants of various levels and luxury exist all along the road, as well as hotels and shopping malls.
Patpong, Nana Plaza and Soi Cowboy are the famous entertainment areas in Bangkok. Patpong is also famous for its night market that runs through the centre of the many go-go bars, pubs and restaurants.
Patpongs location consists of two parallel side streets running between Silom Road and Surawong Road and one side street running from the opposite side of Surawong. Patpong is within walking distance of the SkyTrain's Sala Daeng Station, and Bangkok Metro's Si Lom Station.
Today, the nightlife areas of Nana Plaza and Soi Cowboy provide strong competition for Patpong. However, Patpong is the only one within the official entertainment zones decreed by the Thai government in 2004.
Nana Plaza (officially, Nana Entertainment Plaza) is a red-light district in Bangkok. It lies on Sukhumvit Road Soi 4 across from the Nana Hotel. Nana Plaza is a great favorite with tourists and short time visitors to Bangkok and has become the most talked about and probably the most visited nightlife area in Bangkok. |

Soi Cowboy is a short street with some 40 go-go bars, restaurants and pubs it is similar to Nana Plaza and Patpong. Soi Cowboy is located near Sukhumvit Road, between Sukhumvit Soi 21 (also called Soi Asoke) and Soi 23, is within walking distance from the SkyTrain's Asok Station and the Bangkok Metro's Sukhumvit Station. |

Pattaya city is about 170 kilometers east of Bangkok and is world renown for its vibrant nightlife. Groups of beer bars can be found everywhere along beach road and second road Pattaya. The majority of beer bars are situated from Soi 7 to walking street south Pattaya.
Pattaya’s walking street is where all the tourists head, the neon lights, pubs, beer bars, go-go bars, discos, restaurants and attractions create a great atmosphere. The many Soi’s that lead of walking street are home to some exclusive nightclubs and go-go bars, as well as market stalls, food stalls and open air Thai restaurants, the whole area is an adventure.
Soi Buakhao is between third road and second road Pattaya the Soi runs from Pattaya central road (Pattaya Khang) to Pattaya south road. The long Soi has many good hotels and pubs, beer bars, go-go bars and restaurants at much cheaper prices than walking street.

The pubs, bars and ago go bars of Patong Beach Phuket are the most popular nightlife destinations on the island. They give the town its unique flavor of a lively, fun place until long after the sun goes down. Located within a radius of one kilometer around Soi Bangla Patong there are over 150 beer bars, pubs, discos and go-go bars.
There are bars and restaurants everywhere in Patong. The combination of beach life in a tropical environment, the diversity of the people from all over the world combined with the Thai culture creates an easy and relaxed atmosphere.
On Koh Samui, the majority of bars, pubs, go-go bars and discos are centered on Chaweng and Lamai Beach. The island has plenty of bars, pubs, discos two good cabaret shows and excellent restaurants. The beach bars of Samui offer a variety of entertainment with something to suit all tastes.

Nightlife on Thailand’s many islands varies from relaxing beach bars to resort discos and karaoke music bars. Popular islands such as Koh Samet, Koh Chang and Koh Tao have plenty to offer in nightlife attractions smaller islands tend to be more laid-back. Koh Pha Ngan is famous for its full moon beach parties where you can party from dawn to dusk.
For the young at heart there are plenty of discos and nightclubs the later tend to be more expensive. Be sure to check the drinks list before ordering as prices can be over double in some venues.
The bottom line is, all Thais love to party, beer bars and go-go bars, is generally accepted by all Thais in Thailand. Wherever you travel in Thailand, you will always come across Thai karaoke music bars and Thai live music pubs. They are all worth a visit and represent excellent value for money.
