Cha-Am


Cha-Am is 260 kilometers south of Bangkok approximately a three hour drive from the city. It has become very popular with people from Bangkok for quiet relaxing weekend breaks. It offers a excellent choice of accommodation from luxury hotels to inexpensive beachfront bungalows.


Cha-Am is known for its fresh seafood and relaxing seaside environment, associated with Thai Royalty since 1920. This typical Thai costal town with its traditional fishing port was founded to accommodate Thai visitors. The seafood restaurants are excellent and inexspensive.


The long white sand beach is considered to be one of the most beautiful on the western side of the Thai Gulf. Its warm gental waters are perfect for swimming and for enjoying the varitety of water sports that are available.


Cha-Am is idea for those of you that want to escape and enjoy a peaceful relaxing beach holiday in a town small enough to walk around. This is the place to soak up the tropical sunshine away from hustle and bustle of the International play grounds.


Kaeng Krachan National Park


Kaeng Krachan National Park was established in 1981. Its the largest national park in Thailand covering an area of 2,914 square kilometers of forest and watersheds of the Phetchaburi and Pranburi rivers. Including portions of Nong Ya Plong and Kaeng Krachan districts in Phetchaburi Province and Hua Hin district in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province.


About 45 square kilometers of the area consists of both water and a reservoir. The Kang Kra Jan Dam is on complicated mountain range. The highest peak stands at 1,200 meters above sea level. Most of the mountains are granite a few are limestone many are full of fluoride, much of the area is covered by rain forest. The mountain range is the source of the Phet Buri and Pran Buri Rivers.


Ban Krang and Panoen Thung areas are closed during (The Rainy Season) August to October every year for visitors safety and forest recovering.

Getting to Cha-Am from Bangkok


Trains depart for Hua Hin from Hua Lampong Station Bangkok several times a day and take about 4 hours, on public holidays special excursion services are provided.


Air conditioned buses to Cha Am and Hua Hin depart from the Southern Bus Terminal Bangkok every day. The Journey time to Cha Am is just over 3 hours and 30 minutes longer to Hua Hin.


Mini Buses to Cha Am and Hua Hin run from just off Victory Monument in the centre of Bangkok, to Cha am and Hua hin every 30 minutes. Take the BTS Skytrain to Victory Monument, look for the Century shopping centre the Mini Buses are just down the stairs on the left of the shopping centre. They are quicker than the buses as they only stop at Cha Am, then on to Hua Hin.


A taxi from Bangkok is the quickest and easiest way of getting to Cha am. The trip should take about 2 and a half hours. From Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi Airport the easiest option is to book your car while booking a hotel at the Airport.

Shopping - Eating Out - Nightlife


Shopping in Cha Am and Hua Hin has plenty of good shops. The Premium Shopping Outlet Cha-Am. Markets and Night Bazaar in Hua Hin. Tesco Lotus Superstore Hua Hin.


Excellent seafood restaurants, International Cuisine at most hotels. Fast food Tesco Lotus, you will also find plenty of tasty Thai snacks at Hua Hins Night Bazaar, not much in the way of Nightlife in Cha Am. Nightclubs Pubs and Discos you need to go to Hua Hin.


Leisure & Sport Activities


Cha Am and Hua Hin is home to some of the best golf courses in Thailand. Built to international standards by the likes of Jack Nicklaus. If you have not got your clubs or shoes, everything can be hired.


Plenty of water sports and fishing trips, fitness centers including Thai massage in large Hotels.

Cha Am and Hua Hin has all kinds of accommodation available from 5 Star Luxury Hotels and Spa Resort Hotels. To basic Guesthouses costing around 200 Baht a night, during public holidays prices can double also on some weekends.
